When is the Best Time of Year to Dive on Koh Tao?
Koh Tao offers diving year-round, with each season bringing its own unique appeal. The best conditions are typically from March to September, when the seas are calm, visibility is excellent, and marine life is abundant.
The monsoon season generally occurs in October and November, with heavier rains and rougher seas. By December, conditions begin to improve, but diving may still depend on daily weather patterns. While not the prime diving season, Koh Tao’s welcoming atmosphere and variety of dive sites ensure there’s always something to enjoy, whether you’re diving or simply soaking up the island vibe.
No matter the season, Koh Tao’s range of dive sites—from shallow reefs to wrecks and pinnacles—offers something for everyone. Let us know your plans, and we’ll tailor the perfect diving experience for your visit!
How Do I Book a Dive Course or Fun Dive?
We recommend confirming availability first by contacting us via email, WhatsApp or phone. Once availability is confirmed, you can secure your spot with a deposit, and pay the remaining balance upon signing up at our office. This ensures a smooth booking process and guarantees your place for your diving adventure.
Can I Fly After Diving?
For safety reasons, it’s essential to wait at least 18–24 hours after your last dive before boarding a flight. This time allows your body to safely off-gas the residual nitrogen absorbed during diving, reducing the risk of decompression sickness.
If you’re planning to fly shortly after your diving activities, let us know in advance. Our team will work with you to schedule your dives accordingly, ensuring you have ample time to meet the recommended surface interval. Whether it’s arranging your last dive earlier in the day or planning around your travel itinerary, we’re here to help make your experience both safe and convenient.
Do I Need Insurance for Diving with Koh Tao Divers?
While Koh Tao Divers provides basic accident insurance for incidents that occur during our dive trips (valid for 30 days), it’s important to note that this coverage has limitations compared to plans like those offered by Dive Assure.
We highly recommend obtaining comprehensive dive insurance.

Your included basic insurance provides:
- Accident Coverage: Up to 1,000,000 THB for loss of life, dismemberment, loss of sight, or permanent disability.
