The SSI Open Water Diver course is the ultimate beginner’s diving certification, allowing you to dive to 18 meters (60 feet) anywhere in the world. Over three fun-filled days, you’ll gain the skills and knowledge you need while exploring the vibrant coral reefs that make Koh Tao one of the world’s best diving destinations.
Our experienced instructors, small group sizes, and personalized approach ensure you’ll feel confident and supported every step of the way. Whether you’re here for a new challenge or to explore the island’s breathtaking underwater world, we’re here to make your diving experience unforgettable.

All prices are in Thai Baht (THB) and do not include possible payment fees etc.

  • At lest 10 years old
  • Basic swimming ability is required, including being able to comfortably float or tread water for 10 minutes and swim 20 meters without stopping (or 300 meters using snorkeling equipment).
  • Complete a medical questionnaire to ensure fitness for scuba diving. If you answer “YES” to any questions, consult your physician before diving.

Health

  • Completing a medical questionnaire is mandatory for all diving courses to ensure your fitness for advanced diving activities. You are required to consult a physician and obtain medical clearance before participating.

Insurance

  • The course includes basic accident insurance provided by Koh Tao Divers, covering accidents during our dive trips (valid for 30 days). However, it's important to note that this insurance does not cover everything - evacuation costs are not included, and the coverage is limited compared to broader plans like those offered by Dive Assure.

Included Insurance for Koh Tao Divers Customers

Your included basic insurance provides

  1. Accident Coverage

    • Up to 1,000,000 THB for loss of life, dismemberment, loss of sight, or permanent disability.

  2. Medical Expenses

    • Coverage of up to 500,000 THB per person for each accident, including hyperbaric chamber treatments for diving accidents.

  3. Exclusions

    • Evacuation costs are not included.

  4. Reimbursement Process

    • Patients must pay treatment costs upfront, and the insurance company will reimburse within 2-3 weeks.

For greater protection, including evacuation costs, we recommend comprehensive dive insurance. Plans like those from Dive Assure start at €70/year for most EU citizens and provide additional benefits, including:
